Need to Stitch
I've enjoyed reading the blogs in our ring, but I need to write something too. The thing is I'm finding no time for stitching. With a full time job and two girls to raise, the time for quilting comes at a premium. But I have at least made a few decisions about future quilts. I've settled on a pattern for the quilt for my bedroom. I'm going to make the True Lover's Knot (also called Bowtie and various other names). I've got to do some cleaning and organizing in my studio before I cut another quilt, but I'm going to try to cut this one this weekend. I have a large stash of batiks, so I was trying to pull some good colors for a Blooomin' Nine Patch. My problem is that I don't have enough fabric in the colors that I want for the last two rounds. I may decide to buy some additional fabric for these or I may just choose a different quilt altogether. I thumbed through some of my magazines last night and found a pattern that might work with the colors that I've pulled. There will be some modifications, of course. I never do anything exactly like the pattern says. Then I found a pattern in the Nickel Quilts book that will work great for my extensive collection of 1800's reproduction fabrics. So, some plans are made and hopefully I can find the time to get moving on some of them.

Sounds good! Sometimes the hardest part is deciding what to do, and then bringing the needed parts together. I'm sure time must be at a premium with two growning girls, but you'll find a way..I look forward to seeing your progress..*S*
Marilyn: I love the Blooming Nine Patch quilts, they're so fun to make. Good luck with finding time to quilt.

Marilyn,
I hope you find time to quilt soon. It is such a stress reliever. And the fact that you found the right patterns for the fabrics means it's TIME! LOL...have fun!

I completely understand- I work full time, and have a 4.5 yr old and a 2 year old as well. So, my sewing time can be VERY tricky to work out. I have a huge long list of things I want to do... Good for you for making the time to work on yours!
repro. Nickel Quilt - Would that be Paducah 9-patch? That is a personal UFO of mine... I used several machines while piecing different units - so I need to "work" on it!
I am also doing a string star with my repros.
